About the Dhammapada
The Dhammapada (Pali: Dhammapadā, "Path of Dhamma" or "Verses on Dhamma") is part of the Khuddaka Nikāya in the Sutta Piṭaka of the Pali Canon.
According to the Pali tradition, each verse was spoken by the Buddha in response to a specific situation. The accompanying stories are preserved in the Dhammapada Commentary (Dhammapada-aṭṭhakathā).
